REFCOM: FGAS REFRIGERANT ACCREDITATION
Customised Consulting Are REFCOM CAT1 F-Gas Refrigerants Accredited
REFCOM have been promoting environmentally responsible refrigerant management since 1994, and in 2009 were appointed by the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to operate as a certification body under the stationary equipment provisions of the Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases Regulations.
Refrigerants are chemicals operating in a liquid or vapour state circulating throughout many Air Conditioning, Refrigeration & Heat Pump system components at different pressures and temperatures with the function of adding or removing of heat from a designated area.
Without it many Air Conditioning, Refrigeration & Heat Pump systems cannot operate and depending on refrigerant type, leakage of the substance has different environmental implications.
Refrigerants fall broadly into two categories that are natural (Halogen free) or fluorinated (known as F-Gases) with each type having different levels of environmental ozone depletion and/or global warming potential (GWP) impact.
GWP is the climate temperature rise of the refrigerant relative to its carbon dioxide equivalent and F-Gas refrigerants with high GWPs are currently being phased down due initiatives such as the Montreal Protocol, EU regulations and Kigali Amendment.
Customised Consulting employs appropriately qualified personnel covering Weybridge, Woking, Guildford, Surrey, Sussex, London and Kent in a sufficient number to cover the expected volume of activities in the installation, commissioning, decommissioning, repair, maintenance or servicing of stationary refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump equipment containing F-Gas refrigerants.
